Sing For Your Seniors comes to Encore Community Services in the heart of Times Square to entertain the neighbors enjoying a meal. Rumor has it that SFYS is their favorite organization!
Ronald Brown, Sarah Taylor, Luke Darnell, Mark Klett and Lianne Marie Dobbs brought the hits of the Beatles, Patsy Cline and Paul Anka as well as songs from the musicals FINIAN'S RAINBOW and NEW YORK, NEW YORK. Make no mistake - it's not just the repertoire that gives SFYS its glowing reputation - it's the love with which the music is shared. These artists inspired full room sing-a-longs on popular tunes like "Hit the Road Jack," made personal table-side visits while singing "Till There Was You" and included the hard-working kitchen staff with gratitude and clapping.
A joyous highlight of our session was Luke Darnell accompanying himself on mandolin to Bacharach and David's "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head.” As music brought strangers together, people got up and danced with one another!
