On this gorgeous spring day in New York, we performed at 305 West End Memory Care. Our incredible accompanist, Mark, started us off with a gorgeous “Clair de Lune.” One of the residents recognized the song immediately and wanted to make sure the rest of the audience knew the song, too, “in case they happened to forget.”
Maggie had many of the residents singing along to “The Sound of Music.” Brooke sang such a fun “Great Balls of Fire” and got the audience clapping along in delight. One of the residents even got up to dance with her and took a bow at the end. The residents joyfully tapped their feet perfectly in rhythm to Morgan’s rendition of “In My Own Little Corner” from CINDERELLA. Rebbekah followed with a stunning “If I Loved You,” which the residents knew and sang along.
It was so wonderful watching the faces of the audience brighten and fill with energy as they recognized the music. By the end of the session, they were chatting lively, and it reminded us how important music is!
