The residents at 305 West End Assisted Living & Memory Care were so excited for the session on 10/25/23. The room was packed with eager guests before we even arrived, and the energy was electric!
The entire room cheered when Deborah opened the session with “I Love A Piano.” The audience loved her story of seeing ANNIE on Broadway and touring as Grace Farrell. Then she sang “N.Y.C.” from ANNIE. When Deborah sang “La Vie En Rose,” one audience member was so moved she held her heart and closed her eyes throughout the song.
Emily had the audience vote on a few song choices for her to sing. The number one choice was “I Dreamed A Dream” from LES MISÉRABLES. It’s so wonderful to witness how certain songs can bring people together from all walks of life.
Caitlin had the whole room singing along to “The Sound of Music” and “I Got Rhythm.” When she announced “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” the audience was very excited. One woman even knew the words to the rarely sung prelude verse. Caitlin closed out the session with Carole King’s classic, “I Feel The Earth Move.” She had everyone toe tapping and smiling by the end.
Our accompanist, Mark, played our wide range of songs flawlessly.
As a special encore, Deborah showed off her professional mime skills by giving us all a short mime lesson. We can’t wait to go back to see our friends at 305 West End Assisted Living & Memory Care.
