From Session Leader Brett Teresa: Each of our centers has its own distinct vibe and general musical preferences based on the audience. Our friends at the Neighborhood House have primarily spent all or most of their lives in NYC and they know so much of the standard musical theatre repertoire.
Needless to say, this isn’t a crowd that needs to be encouraged to sing along, and the joy on their faces each time a popular song begins is priceless. This is especially true when thinking of the memories that must be associated with the music and how even hearing the piano intro can usher in a wave of emotions. It’s always so nice getting to chat with the audience after and hearing so many of the individual stories associated with the songs.
See you soon Neighborhood House!
