Six musical theater performers walked into The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House and transformed a hushed lunch room into a concert extravaganza filled with hugs! One senior told us, "Today was my first time staying for music, and I am so glad I did. I had no idea that the lunch concerts were this delightful and so talented. I will never forget how this hour of music made me feel!"
Actor-musician, Luke Darnell, brought his guitar and his love for 1950’s country and classic rock “n' roll. He kicked off the session with toe-tapping Hank Williams and Johnny Cash hits. Lianne Marie Dobbs, his fiance, brought full-voiced harmonies to the duets. They delighted the audience with banter akin to George Burns and Gracie Allen and Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.
Many in the audience were glad to see Ron again and eagerly asking for their favorite tunes he had previously sung. He happily obliged and closed with an entrancing "My Way”.
Jacquelyn always brings passion and storytelling to her wonderful contemporary musical-theatre choices. She openly shared about bold new life choices she's been making after several years in New York City and shared a special song that she wrote during her grad school days.
Ren joined Sing For Your Seniors for the first time and shared her glittering soprano with American Songbook standards.
Our new piano accompanist, Kent Dennis, brought his beaming smile and amazing talent.
It was truly special to have multiple generations of SFYS performers gathered together to bring music to our friends at The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House.
