The room at SAGE was full of joy on a rainy Thursday afternoon in midtown!
Performers Jackie Greenspan, Lianne Marie Dobbs and Emily Lynn Miller were accompanied by Mason Griffin, who opened the session with a wonderful medley of hits by the great Jerry Herman.We went down memory lane with great songs by Rodgers & Hart, Duke Ellington, Sara Bareilles, Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim and Kander & Ebb.
Our friends at SAGE love interacting and sharing stories with us as the music session progresses. This session felt more like a living room filled with family and friends catching up and sharing music together.
Several songs reminded them of live theatre experiences they had. As they shared their memories, they brightened the room even more.
Everyone shared how we feel music in our bodies, hearts and skin. When we remember a song we love, we don’t just remember the melody, we also relive the beautiful feelings the song gives us.
Jacquelyn, Emily, Lianne and Mason all awakened great musical memories today, and we all left feeling the music that we shared. We all left with suggestions of great singers to research and new songs to learn from our devoted friends at SAGE!
