About Session

From SFYS Artist Maggie Elizabeth May: We had so much fun at our SAGE session today! We were additionally thrilled to welcome some listeners zooming in from the Clairemont Guest Home for the first time!

SFYS Board member, Napoleon joining us virtually from his mom’s house in Iowa, sang real powerhouse pieces, including "I Am What I Am" from LA CAGE AUX FOLLES and "Johanna" from SWEENEY. Jacquelyn offered everything from Carole King to R&H, she brings so much variety to our sessions. Lianne (everyone's favorite music historian) sang a stunning arrangement of "Nature Boy" from the musical MOULIN ROUGE, but was sure to fill us in on the origins of that fabulous tune originally popularized by Nat King Cole. Luke made his long-awaited SFYS debut, not only accompanying himself on piano, but delighted us with the original choreography of "Moses Supposes" from SINGING IN THE RAIN and tapped his heart out to a new arrangement of Snyder, Smith and Wheeler's "The Sheik of Araby" by his friend, Harry Connick Jr. See you next month, SAGE!
