TyNia is a Charlotte, NC native now based in New York City. Since completing her BFA in musical theater, her career has taken her around the world with Disney Cruise Line and to the Broadway stage where she debuted in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. While there, she was able to co-found a community outreach program called the Black is Beautiful Project alongside fellow board member Daniel Torres. That platform allowed her the opportunity to partner with SFYS and the rest is history. Currently, Brandon is earning her Masters in Arts and Culture Management in hopes to expand her professional life to producing cultural arts programming for communities in need. Post Covid, you can find her back on stage with her first love, performance, in The Lion King National Tour.
“Serving on the board of SFYS is a way to bring joy to a community that is quite often overlooked. I serve to offer our seniors a moment to reminisce on their best memories through the music they love. I want to continue to develop and create programming that will elevate the experience of the seniors we serve.”
